The whole Sparlock stupidity & Sign Language Masturbation video makes them look even crazier. The Conti case exposes the dirty underbelly of the organization. It certainly has been a year of negative publicity. -Leslie-

(((Sophie G))) Hang in there. I think that friends and family freak out because they don't really want to be put in a position of having to choose between friendship, family or the organization. They become angry at us when their anger is because of the stand they are forced to take if they don't want to be on the outside looking in themselves. The thought of them having to choose makes them very uncomfortable. It will get better. Leslie

Are YOU a Thinker?
by alamb inthe recovering thinker.
hi, my name is bob, and i am a recovering thinker..... it started out innocently enough: i began thinking at meetings now and then to loosen up.
inevitably though, one thought led to another and soon i was more than just a theocratic thinker.

Congratulations. I found it interesting that the elder told you that you HAVE to pioneer this month because the society needs a month to process it. So glad you stuck to your guns and said no! Leslie

Do you ever just start CRYING for apparently no reason?
by Terry ini spoke to a friend of mine about this not too long ago.. we are "of a certain age".. the subject came up somehow.. .
i'll be watching a tv commercial or i'll see some people in a park or a simple passing thought will suddenly induce a profound.
sense of---well, how to describe it?
-

Sometimes I cry for no reason at all. Wasn't thinking sad thoughts or anything. Always feel better after. At times when we're in a crisis we hold it together and once it has passed the tears flow. You're normal Terry like the rest of us. Leslie (does seem to happen more as I get older)

Flatulence
by JamesThomas inhave you ever seen those videos where someone puts a lighter to their butt and lights a fart on fire?

LMAO, When hubby & I were dating he decided to impress me by lighting a fart (some weird guy thing I guess). He decided to do it through his undies. Big mistake, almost lit the undies on fire, and just left an awful stink. Such a disappointment, I was looking forward to some type of flame thrower spectacle! Yup, I still married him. -Leslie-

new here, my story
by doingwell ini'm not sure why i felt a need to find this site and write my story about my experiences with the jw religion.
it's been pretty far in my past, but it still had an impact, and maybe i'm just being a bit reflective, having past 40 years of age and expecting my 2nd child next year.
maybe also being reflective having just attended a catholic babtism for my wife's cousin's daughter and seeing organized religion in action again.. my mom became a jw long before i was born - she's in her 80's now.

Do you think theres such a thing as a "normal person"
by londonlady ini was trying to think of all the many many people i've ever met and conculded that none of them could be termed "normal".
some of them might have seemed normal to start with but on further inspection most definatly not!.
in answer to the obvious question no i do not think i'm normal neither, i don't think i would want to be either.
-

Not really. Unless we are using ourself as the example of normal then anyone not like us is abnormal. Leslie
